Motes is operated by Revenue Nation LLC ("Revenue Nation", "we", "us"). Motes is a personal quote library: it lets you collect, import, organize, and rediscover quotes and passages, with AI-assisted theme tagging and discovery. By creating an account or continuing to use the service, you agree to these terms, which form a contract between you and Revenue Nation LLC.

You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction (or have authority to bind your organization) to use Motes. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

You must not misuse the service. That includes:

• Using Motes for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or to send spam
• Infringing others' intellectual property rights
• Interfering with the service's security — introducing malware, probing or scanning our systems, or scraping the service or other users' data
• Reverse engineering the service, reselling or redistributing it, or circumventing technical limits

Because Motes uses AI to classify and discover content, you also agree not to use it to generate illegal content, deepfakes, hate speech, or malware, or to attempt to bypass the AI's safety behavior.

You retain ownership of the quotes, notes, and text you save. You grant Revenue Nation LLC a limited license to host and process that content solely to provide the service to you. You are responsible for the content you save and for having the right to save it.

Motes uses AI to tag quotes by theme and to suggest related passages. AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete; you are responsible for how you use them and for verifying anything that matters. AI suggestions are not professional advice of any kind. We may remove or restrict content, filter outputs, or suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Revenue Nation LLC owns the Motes service and its intellectual property — the software, design, documentation, and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your plan. If you believe content in the discovery library infringes your rights, contact us and we will review and remove it where appropriate; repeat infringement may lead to account termination.

Motes offers a free 14-day trial, then a paid membership at $3 per month or $30 per year. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms (paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms).

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the paid period. See our Refund Policy.

We work hard to keep Motes available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Revenue Nation LLC is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law requires it.

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. When your access ends, you may export your library beforehand from your profile; after termination your data may be deleted.

These terms are governed by the laws of the state where Revenue Nation LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or acquisition. We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
